Works and projects

The Works / Projects module tracks the company’s projects and works: work orders, tasks, resource allocation, budgets and progress. It is an extended-tier module (not part of a new company’s minimal core).

Core concepts

Project: a work or execution contract, with a budget and deadlines.
Work order / task: the unit of execution within the project.
Resources: people, materials, costs allocated to the project.
Progress: tracking advancement and costs against the budget.

Links with other modules

Material consumption comes from Inventory; staff costs from Payroll.
Customer invoicing goes through Sales; the result flows into accounting as everywhere.
