Works and projects
Section titled “Works and projects”The Works / Projects module tracks the company’s projects and works: work orders, tasks, resource allocation, budgets and progress. It is an extended-tier module (not part of a new company’s minimal core).
Core concepts
Section titled “Core concepts”- Project: a work or execution contract, with a budget and deadlines.
- Work order / task: the unit of execution within the project.
- Resources: people, materials, costs allocated to the project.
- Progress: tracking advancement and costs against the budget.
What it is for
Section titled “What it is for”- See what a project cost and what it returned (budget vs actual).
- Link material consumption and labour to a project, for a cost-centre view.
Links with other modules
Section titled “Links with other modules”- Material consumption comes from Inventory; staff costs from Payroll.
- Customer invoicing goes through Sales; the result flows into accounting as everywhere.
Extended-tier module; detailed flow documentation follows once the new platform is prioritized.
